Susan Vaidya Shrestha

Managing Director, Agni Group

Mrs. Susan Vaidya Shrestha is a business woman who believes in necessity of woman empowerment for the development of the country.
Her father, late Vijaya Gajananda Vaidya was the well-known businessman who introduced Toyota vehicles in Nepal.
Raised in a family with a diverse business background, she cultivated an early appreciation for entrepreneurship, leadership, and nation-building. She completed her early education at Loreto Convent, Darjeeling, before pursuing higher studies at Southern Illinois University and the University of Rhode Island in the United States.

Alongside Mr. Cabinet Shrestha, Chairman of Agni Group, she co-founded her business journey with a shared vision of building a strong enterprise. Today, she serves as Managing Director of Agni Group, one of Nepal's leading diversified business conglomerates, where she provides strategic leadership across the Group's business verticals, driving growth, innovation, operational excellence, and long-term value creation.

Under her leadership, the Group has strengthened its organizational capabilities, embraced sustainable business practices, and cultivated an inclusive workplace culture. She has also been a strong advocate for empowering Nepali women within the organization by creating opportunities for women to take on leadership roles and contribute meaningfully to decision-making processes.

Beyond her core role, she serves as Executive Director of United Traders Syndicate Pvt. Ltd. and Guranse Tea, and as a Director of John Dewey's School. Her involvement in education reflects her commitment to progressive, affordable, and inclusive learning — moving beyond conventional educational models to emphasize creativity, critical thinking, experiential learning, and holistic development.

Driven by a commitment to lasting social impact, she is the Founder and President of Agni Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Agni Group. Under her stewardship, the Foundation advances initiatives across education, healthcare, community development, disaster relief, elderly care, and environmental sustainability — through scholarship programs, healthcare institution support, and community-based initiatives designed to expand opportunity and improve quality of life for underserved communities across Nepal.

She is also the Founder and Chairperson of E-Arts Nepal, an organization dedicated to promoting contemporary Nepali art, music, and culture, providing a platform for emerging creative talent, and fostering greater international appreciation of Nepal's cultural heritage.
Born to a well-established industrialist family, she understands the value of economics and industrial revolution. She graduated with a BA (in Economics) from the University of Rhode Island, USA after completing her high school education from Loreto Convent, Darjeeling.

She is also the Executive Director of United Traders Syndicate Pvt. Ltd. and Guranse Tea. She runs John Dewy’s School as a Director. In her opinion, education is one of the key factors to pave the path for the overall growth of the nation. She was also the judge of Miss Nepal 2016.

Besides being an inspiration for women to be an entrepreneur, she loves to promote contemporary Nepalese art/music and showcase Nepali culture to the rest of the world.
